Bajaj Avenger 200 cc DTS-i, the latest cruiser bike from Bajaj Auto has just been launched. The new Bajaj Avenger uses the DTS-i technology which comes with the Pulsar. The Bajaj Avenger DTS-i comes for Rs 64,830 (ex-showroom New Delhi). The Bajaj Avenger 200 cc DTS-engine delivers 17.5 PS at 8000 rpm with a torque of 16.78 Nm at 6000 rpm.
The current model of Avenger has a 180 cc engine, also with DTS-i technology patented by Bajaj Auto. The new engine can deliver a top speed of 115 kmph. The Avenger DTS-i 200 cc has an oil cooled engine which helps maintain oil viscosity at high engine RPMs.
Said S Sridhar, chief executive officer (2-wheelers), Bajaj Auto: "The new 200cc Avenger DTS-i surpasses by far the performance of the of the 180cc original. A typically low-slung cruiser, the Avenger 200 DTS-i compares to the finest in the world."
The other cruiser bike competitor Yamaha Enticer is no longer in production. Bajaj has announced that it will move away from the low-margin 100 cc bikes towards more profitable and bigger bikes.
Bajaj Auto says that the 200 cc Bajaj Avenger bike will "further enhance the pleasure of riding on Indian roads." Bajaj's 200cc Pulsar DTS-i engine generates 18 Ps of power and at 6,000 rpm while the Bajaj Avenger cruiser is less torquey than the sporty Pulsar 200cc.
